Fitness Log #284, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I saw the solar eclipse! With friends!
  2. I traveled to a state I had never visited.
  3. On the way back, we took backroads to avoid the crush of other eclipse-viewers. I saw areas less than an hour from home which I had never been to before (both good and bad).

This is not a photo of the recent total solar eclipse. Actually, this is from 141 years ago!

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  I had a lazy day, doing some house chores, but no walking or other exercise.
  • Sunday:  Same as Saturday.
  • Monday: My trainer and I were both busy, having traveled to see the eclipse. I walked around a bit, but I didn’t bother measuring anything.
  • Tuesday: I walked part way home from work, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: A tennis lesson. I was rusty, but felt pretty good by the end of the lesson. 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: A day full of administrative ridiculousness. And bad weather, so no walk home.
  • Friday: The weather was even worse than yesterday. I did not feel motivated to pull up some exercise videos, so no exercise today either.

Total: 20 minutes of walking and 60 minutes of tennis. Not at my goal, but I am feeling better (and I did better than last week).

CME Goals

  • MKSAP: None/done.
  • CME Videos: Not yet.
