Fitness Log #369, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I searched YouTube and found a stretching video. The routine incorporates a number of yoga moves.

Fabulousness

I liked that first video and realized there is a series.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do during this hospital week?

  • Saturday:  Walked part way home to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
  • Sunday:  Walked part way home to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
  • Monday: This was an emotionally exhausting day. I did not walk home, and did no exercise once I was there.
  • Tuesday: It was cold, rainy, and dark by the time I could leave work. Mr. PiN picked me up from work, but I did try a stretching video to do before dinner and homework. I had more stiff areas than I realized. 15 minutes.
  • Wednesday: The weather was still bad for walking at night. I was picked up at the hospital and spent the evening at the computer.
  • Thursday: It was very cold, and I was wearing scrubs. I got a ride home, but did try another stretching video (these are mostly yoga-type moves) for the hips. 19 minutes.
  • Friday: I was super sore from yesterday, and tired, and cold. I gave up on exercise today.

Total: 34 minutes of walking and 34 minutes of stretching/yoga. The total is only 68 minutes, so I missed my total. I am somewhat happy to have (at least) started to explore exercise videos for the winter months.

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.

    1. Yes, I am hoping that this is the winter of the exercise video. The weather is awful, and the neighbhorhood sidewalks are currently atrocious due to utility work. I am enjoying the stretching–it’s obvious that I need to be doing this–but I am thinking about actually doing some of the aerobic-type exercises.
