Fitness Log #379, Friday Firsts, Fabulousness, And Monthly Goals

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I forgot to note anything under my firsts this week.

Fabulousness

It warmed up enough for me to walk part way home from the hospital after work.

And, I stopped in at the public library to find books to read on vacation. Always fabulous.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  A work out with my trainer, 30 minutes.
  • Sunday:  A walking video, 30 minutes.
  • Monday: Another walking video, 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: An actual walk outside, 17 minutes to my pick up point. How refreshing (if a little slippery in places).
  • Wednesday: I felt great for my tennis lesson, and ran a lot. 60 minutes.
    • Thursday: Another walk to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
  • Friday: I worked on finishing notes before the weekend, and missed my exercise window. None today.

Total: 34 minutes walking outside, 60 minutes of walking videos, 30 minutes strength training and 60 minutes of tennis. A total of 184 minutes. A great week.

Monthly Round Up

  • Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): Goal met in 3/4 weeks. Of note, the week I didn’t meet my goal, I was very close.
  • Clutter goals:Not too much progress happened, but shredding a pile of papers did make more room in my office.
  • Local Adventures. I went to a new-to-me restaurant.
  • Social activity (one in-person activity per month and/or attending services). I went out to dinner twice, once with my sister-in-law and her friends, and once with my friends. I also invited a friend over to chat with my SIL one afternoon. Also! I attended services 3 times, by video.

I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.

    1. I was thrilled to walk outside, even when it was colder than I previously found acceptable.

I’m sure hot weather will come soon enough, and I will complain it’s too hot to walk outside, but for now I am looking forward to it.

Enjoy PEI and visiting with your daughter!
