Fitness Log #384, Friday Firsts, Fabulousness, And Monthly Goals

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I saw my first daffodils of the season on a walk home.

Fabulousness

This was not the best week I’ve had working in the hospital. I can’t really recall anything that was all that fabulous.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do in this hospital week?

  • Saturday:  It was a long day, and Mr. PiN happened to be on the road, close to the hospital, when I was ready to leave. No exercise today.
  • Sunday:  A walk to my pick up point, 20 minutes.
  • Monday: Again, I walked to my pick up point. My shortcut has been blocked off, so it was a 20 minute walk.
  • Tuesday: A long frustrating day at work. Now that the sun is going down later, I was still able to walk to a pick up point. I went a little further than usual, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: We had incredibly bad weather, and I’m not feeling super. I got a ride home and rested before dinner and more work from home.
  • Thursday: The weather wasn’t terrible, but I still got a pickup from the hospital, and returned home to eat dinner, watch TV, write notes, and get no exercise.
  • Friday: We had high winds and I didn’t feel it would be a good idea to walk outside. Strangely enough, with plenty of work to do from home, I didn’t exercise once I was home either.

Total: 60 minutes of walking, I did not meet my exercise goal.

Monthly Round Up

  • Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): I definitely met my goal 1 week, probably met it another week, and then fell ill. I will say I met my goal 2/5 weeks.
  • Clutter goals:Preparing for a little party for my retirement-eligible friend led to clearing a lot of clutter around the living room. And Mr. PiN cleared up the dining room.
  • Local Adventures. No local adventures, but we did go away and have lots of new experiences in Arizona.
  • Social activity (one in-person activity per month and/or attending services). I saw my friends for that little party. We visited with Mr. PiN’s uncle and his significant other. When I had recovered from COVID, I did pay a visit to my friend recovering from her hip surgery. I feel like I did okay with this goal

I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
