Fitness Log #402, And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

For the first time in possibly 20 years, I took apart one of my favorite outdoor chairs, a low slung sand chair which is perfect for this very short person, to wash the canvas. It was filthy. I am not 100% sure I can put it back together, but the chair would have to go anyway if I couldn’t clean it.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

Shore at low tide with 2 boats on the beach.
Another summer scene, though no sand chairs are in view.
  • Saturday:  A 30 minute work out with my trainer. We took it a little easy, since I was creaking like the Tin Man.
  • Sunday:  I got a lift up the hill to the supermarket, and walked back with a few items to clean the house. 30 minutes. Then I started cleaning (not counted).
  • Monday: I hit a wall today, and just didn’t have the energy to exericse. Or do any more cleaning in the house.
  • Tuesday: It was so hot, Mr. PiN insisted on picking me up from the hospital. I did not exercise in the house either.
  • Wednesday: Tennis was moved indoors, but we played. 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: I was planning to walk to my pick up point today, to make sure to hit my weekly goal. But the air quality was so bad, there were warnings not to go out if not necessary. I couldn’t see the hills that are less than a mile away out of my office window. Mr. PiN gave me a ride home.
  • Friday: After a full day inside, I fired up an exercise video for 30 minutes.

Total: 30 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, 60 minutes of tennis and a 30 minute work out video, all added up to a total of 150 minutes. I made my goal despite the terrible outside conditions!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
