I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
Our central air conditioning gave up altogether. Not the best of firsts.
Fabulousness
I had a fabulous time helping my friend in the garden, even if I didn’t feel fabulous at all the next day.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A work out with my trainer, 30 minutes. Later in the day, I helped my friend with some mulching, and then walked home. The walk took 36 minutes.
- Sunday: I may not have counted my gardening assistance in my exercise total yesterday, but my body still noticed it. I was very sore and tired, and did not even consider exercise except to decide I wasn’t doing any today.
- Monday: I was mostly recovered today, and took a walk after sitting for hours for an IT presentation. 20 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Wednesday: A tennis lesson, 60 minutes.
- Thursday: Mr. PiN was dealing with rain and told me he would pick me up. I saw no rain despite my position 3 miles away, but I spent my time finishing up notes. No exercise today.
- Friday: We had rain today. And lightning. So no outdoor exercise. Also, we lost A/C so the house was hot and muggy. No indoor exercise either..
Total: 74 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 164 minutes of exercise. I made my goal, despite skipping exercise several days!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
