Eight years ago, I hit ‘publish’ on my first real post on this blog.
I have not been blogging as consistently this year, but I certainly did not want to miss my blog anniversary.
What to report about the past year?
I blogged about my efforts to meet the recommended amount of weekly exercise in my Friday posts.
I completed 1 year of Wednesday W posts, reviewing my use of my new, extra day off from work (Mondays off, reported on Wednesday).
In 11 of 12 months, I rounded up my favorite posts by other people.
Looking at all of this, I suppose I did get a few blog posts written.
However, I usually think of my Monday posts as a place to stretch my writing wings.
I did not fill most of my Mondays with posts. I did manage 13 posts, including 1 (only one!) update on preparing for life after retirement, and 1 travel post (with pictures!).
I will work on publishing more of these posts this fall.
Do I have more positive news about this blog?
I have a ton more views, which I suspect has to do with blog scrapers. However, it is possible that some of those views represent people finding the blog. If that’s you, feel free to drop me a note!
I appreciate those readers who comment–especially Michelle of Boomer Eco Crusader, and C, who have been so supportive over the years.
What’s next?
I hope that some of the *life stuff* distracting me from blogging may calm down in the next few weeks, leaving me with more time and attention to write.
There may be some shorter Monday posts as I ease back into writing more regularly.
I may also try a little Throw Back Thursday action. Between Word Press highlighting old posts, and someone reading things from years ago, there are a few pieces that might hold up well for a re-read.
Positive suggestions about topics for blog posts are welcome! As are plain old comments or greetings.

Congratulations on eight years, and thanks for the shout out!
I do enjoy your blog. It is hard to stick with it, so don’t feel too bad about your Monday posts. Sometimes the inspiration just doesn’t come.
