Fitness Log #403, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

While I was at the kitchen sink, washing dishes, I realized a deer was sitting right outside, staring at me.

Fabulousness

After being stuck indoors because of terrible air quality from wildfires, I was able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air and cooler temperatures this week. It was beyond fabulous.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

Lava coming down a mountain with billowing clouds. Two small figures look at the lava pool. The bay of Naples is seen on the right.
We had wildfire smoke, not volcanic eruptions; but the air quality was very, very bad for the beginning of the week.
  • Saturday:  My trainer had to cancel on me, and the air quality was too bad for me to go outside. I ended up with no exercise.
  • Sunday:  The air quality was still bad, and I planned to do a video indoors. Except that Mr. PiN came home from his errands to watch the World Cup Finals; I couldn’t leave him to watch alone, could I? No exercise done today.
  • Monday: My trainer rescheduled for today, 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A walk nearly to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
  • Wednesday: My tennis lesson went a little (a lot) longer because of a mix up. It lasted an hour and a half.
  • Thursday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
  • Friday: I flew home to see my mom, so walked through 2 airports. I’m sure there were plenty of steps, but have no idea how much I walked. I will leave this as a no exercise day.

Total: 35 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 90 minutes of tennis, for a total of 155 minutes of exercise. I met my goal despite staying indoors for 3 days!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
