The hospital is still busy, no new post today.
Here’s a memory from a few years ago–much nicer than my current daily views.

Here’s a memory from a few years ago–much nicer than my current daily views.
…then work got too busy to finish the post for today.
Hopefully I will be able to get on track with blogging soon.
I slowed down my writing in 2020–I can’t imagine what could have distracted me–but, still, here we are. Since March 2020, I have published another 100 blog posts.
Previously, I had used the century mark as a point to go through all prior 100 posts. I thought I might do something different, and go through the top 3 posts (as decided by me) in different categories.
Continue reading “100 Blog Posts, Take Three”It’s the end of the year, and I thought I’d highlight some articles I loved and have been saving. There isn’t a real theme, like finance or travel, just pieces I found interesting, and hope you will too.
Consider it my present to you, the reader. Happy Holidays!
Continue reading “Wednesday Whimsy For The Holidays”As you might have noticed, if you read the news, the first (Pfizer) vaccine for COVID-19 received an emergency use authorization 3 days ago. At the end of this week, the Moderna vaccine may receive a similar authorization. Vaccines are rolling out, and healthcare workers–though certainly not all of us–will start vaccination this week.
Most certainly, the pandemic is not over. It will take months for enough people in the USA to be protected to reduce the spread of this illness. I expect the next several months to be full of stories of overfull, overworked hospitals and people grieving for loved ones lost to this disease.
However, I am starting to feel a little hopeful that we might be at the very beginning of the end.
On that note, I thought I would share a number of posts related to the pandemic that struck my fancy over the year. Many are from the very beginning of the pandemic; it is interesting to note the difference in tone from April until now. And yet, I find the messages within remain relevant.
Continue reading “Monday Melange, COVID-19 Edition”Some of personal finance is about numbers and strategies. Much of it, however, has to do with mindset. I read lots of articles about personal finance, and only remember to save some of them. I thought it was time (or past time) to share: here are a few that struck my fancy.
Continue reading “Monday Melange, Money Mentality”I have been saving a number of blog posts that caught my eye, and I think it might be time to share them. Saving blog posts without sharing seems to me like saving yummy leftovers in the fridge but never eating them–the saved item loses much of its value.
I read lots of articles about personal finance, and only save some of them; mostly it depends on how organized I am when I read them. Here are a few of my favorites, though there were so many I will probably have another round up soon.
Continue reading “Monday Melange, Money Matters Math”Two years ago on October 1, 2018, I posted my first “real” blog post, about my Roth IRA from residency, and last year I celebrated my first blogiversary.
After another trip around the sun, dodging coronavirus and a big C diagnosis in the family, I thought I would take the time to reflect on my progress with the blog.
Continue reading “Happy Blogiversary To Me, 2020”I have been saving a number of blog posts that caught my eye, and I think it might be time to share them. Saving without sharing seems to me to be losing some of their virtue–sort of like saving yummy leftovers in the fridge but never eating them.
The links below were inspired by the events of this summer as regards systemic racism. Most are focused on highlighting financial blogs and podcasts by Black content creators. One meant to straight up educate others on what systemic racism is for those who don’t suffer under it. One offers some inspiration on how FI can help make the world a better place for all.
Continue reading “Monday Melange, Inspired By BLM”Today my interview over at PracticeBalance is going up. Feel free to go check it out if you want to know more about me and how I try to maintain some balance in my life.
If you have arrived here after reading my interview with Dr. Dawn Baker, welcome to the blog. Most things related to life balance will probably be found in my Future Me posts or Fitness Logs, but maybe you will find something else that piques your interest. Feel free to poke around and drop a note if you want to say hi.
