This week everything has been knocked off kilter by a huge storm that went through the area. It would be fair to say that everything, including blogging, has not gone to plan.
Today I realized that even though things are topsy-turvy, I have so many things to be grateful for:
- The storm came through our city, but the huge tree overhanging the bedroom did not crash through the roof.
- Fallen trees littered the streets, but we can come and go from our street.
- Our neighborhood did not lose power, though many others nearby have been without, sometimes for days.
- Mr. PiN was fine with us hosting friends for dinner at no notice. We were happy to offer working outlets so they could charge their various electronics (how did we ever live without them?).
- When we realized they did not have electricity or hot water, we were able to offer our friends our spare bedroom. After a day’s delay, one of them stayed for several nights.
- Our guest was excellent company, and had no complaints (or sideways looks) at our disarray, as we had only returned to town a day or two before the storm.
- We now have the house to ourselves again!

Is there anything you are particularly grateful for this week?
