Fitness Log #129 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 2 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. This weekend, I sent Mr. PiN out to get new dishes and silverware for two for the holiday. I never thought I would abdicate that decision to him, but it worked out pretty well. And the price wasn’t bad either (actually, it was quite good!).
  2. Not my favorite first: I got my first sunburn of the season (on my Tuesday walk).
  3. I contacted someone on Facebook for professional services–a notary. They were convenient and available, but pricier than I had expected.
Any resemblance between me or my walking friend is purely coincidental.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  I was exhausted, but managed 28 minutes.
  • Sunday:  Still exhausted, I did not leave the house (nor did I do an indoors work out).
  • Monday:  I was still very tired, and slept in much later than usual on my first real day of vacation. I finally got out of the house for a 36 minute walk.
  • Tuesday: Today, I made arrangements to walk with a buddy (and her dog). Between getting to her house, walking, and coming home, my timer says I have been walking for 90 minutes! I think, however, I tired myself out too much to do my Zoom yoga class.
  • Wednesday: No exercise today.
  • Thursday: I met up (virtually) with my trainer today. It was a tough workout after 2 weeks away, but I felt a lot better afterwards. 30 minutes.
  • Friday: After staying indoors for several days, I was quite grumpy. I was… encouraged… to go out for a walk. I felt much better for the experience. 35 minutes walking.

Total: 189 minutes walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 219 minutes. I met my weekly total, though I didn’t manage 60 minutes of strength work (training and/or yoga). I will take the partial win, though.
