Fitness Log #166 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I started attending on the inpatient service on a floor I had never covered before. After working in the same place for many years, this was a little different.
  2. My computer was updated and I no longer care for the provided screen saver. I accidentally set up my screen to rotate through photos, and have been enjoying the changing show. It is bringing back memories of our summer vacation.
  3. A letter came in the mail purporting to be from a family who was wondering if we were interested in selling the house. First names and phone number given, but no last names or return address. I think I smell something fishy.

Look at that crowd on the right! They remind me of all the hospital people who needed me right now.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  A busy day with overwhelmed interns. No exercise for me.
  • Sunday:  Today I spent 2 hours trying to get my home computer fixed. It looked like a success until I tried to log in at work. No exercise for me today, unless it was biting my tongue.
  • Monday-Friday: One tough day after another. There was no exercise happening–even a training session didn’t save me (I canceled).

Total: No exercise, lots of stress. Mostly looking forward to finishing my stint and getting a day off.
