Fitness Log #180 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. Mr. PiN helped me empty out one of our guest closets. It had not been so empty since the day we moved in (quite a few years ago).
  2. I learned that my sister-in-law, who has been quite vocal about her earning power, did not have an emergency fund until a few months ago. I couldn’t quite believe it! It may be my imagination, but she seemed much more calm than I have ever seen her before.
Modern oil painting with a steamer ship, bridges, a dock, and other urban features.
What a wonderfully busy and deconstructed picture of a harbor.

Fitness Log

For the first few months of 2022, the goal is to do my PT exercises 3 times a week, and get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  No exercise today.
  • Sunday:  I took my short neighborhood walk today; either there was less traffic (less time waiting to cross the road) or I am getting faster. 19 minutes.
  • Monday: I walked part-way home from work today (19 minutes) and later worked out with my trainer (30 minutes).
  • Tuesday: No exercise today.
  • Wednesday: I went for an afternoon walk, and stretched my usual short walk by a little. 23 minutes.
  • Thursday: No exercise today.
  • Friday: None today either. Unless you count gnashing my teeth.

Total: 61 minutes walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 91 minutes. No PT for the 2nd full week in a row, and I am starting to feel it.
