Fitness Log #183 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I had thought that my weekly meeting of friends might be good for our careers, but mostly it is just a fun way to get together when we are still separated due to the pandemic. This week, however, we clearly were discussing business and career decisions. There is nothing like having an outsider looking in to identify…problems in the workplace.
  2. After developing car trouble, I took a trip with one of the newer bus companies (my first time with this company).
Terracotta woman's head, with lots of hair surrounding. Her eyes look to her left and her mouth is open in surprise.
What, me exericse? (I think she looks a bit like a neoclassical Alfred E Neuman).

Fitness Log

For the first few months of 2022, the goal is to do my PT exercises 3 times a week, and get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  No exercise, just a day of rest after a long few weeks.
  • Sunday:  I did go for a walk, 30 minutes. I didn’t feel all that great afterwards.
  • Monday: Zonked after work, I postponed my work out with my trainer.
  • Tuesday: No exercise after work.
  • Wednesday: I was supposed to work out today, and felt tired enough I postponed to next week.
  • Thursday: A short day of work, and then a planned car trip. No exercise.
  • Friday: No formal exercise, but definitely some walking back and forth from the car to a hotel room. Plus more when the car trip went south, and public transportation became the theme of the day.

Total: 30 minutes walking, and nothing much else. I haven’t been feeling well, and I can’t quite figure if I feel lousy and I don’t exercise, or if I feel lousy because I don’t exercise. Hoping next week will turn this around a bit.
