Fitness Log #263 And Friday Firsts and Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I attended many meetings this week (not a first), several of which I was running (a definite first). I am not sure this is something I actually want to repeat.

Fabulousness

I went to the museum with a friend. We enjoyed a new exhibit and then splurged on lattes in the cafe. It all felt very genteel.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

My week wasn’t quite as sad as hers…
  • Saturday:  My foot was bothering me, so my friend and I drove to the museum. No exercise.
  • Sunday: Still not feeling great (foot issues, fatigue, too much leftover work). No exercise.
  • Monday: A friend who is a patient in the practice gave me a ride home from work, we had a nice gab in the car before I got home. I did fit in a work out with my trainer, 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: I was exhausted at the end of the day, and Mr. PiN gave me a ride. No exercise.
  • Wednesday: I still didn’t feel good, and was overwhelmed by meetings and work. I begged off my tennis lesson, but did find my old ankle brace and got in a walk. 31 minutes.
  • Thursday: I finished work after dark, and the weather was not good for a walk. No exercise today.
  • Friday: I fit in a short walk at the lunch hour (probably 5 minutes), which is good, since there was heavy precipitation at the end of the day.

Total: 66 minutes walking, and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 96 minutes of exercise. Definitely not a great week–though I note it’s my first very sad week in a while.
