I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
The PiN household joined the multitudes using Airtags to find things–in this case, Mr. PiN’s keys, which seem to play hide and seek at least once a week. Last week was the last straw, and hopefully we will no longer have to delay leaving the house while we look for them.
Fabulousness
The heat wave broke in time for me to enjoy standing out on a dark hill to watch fireworks. The fresh air was fabulous.
Later in the week, I listened to a marching band practicing while I waited for Mr. PiN to pick me up at our usual spot. I think I recognized “Istanbul (not Constantinople).”
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do during this hospital week?

- Saturday: It was still too hot to walk even part-way home from the hospital. No exercise indoors either.
- Sunday: Today was a long day, with rain when I was ready to leave. No exercise.
- Monday: It was finally cool enough to walk to my pick up point. It’s still summer, and humid, but it was great to get out for a walk. 18 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Wednesday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Thursday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Friday: A walk to a further pick up point, 22 minutes.
Total: 94 minutes of walking, I met my goal!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
