I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
Mr. PiN and I were on vacation this week, and so we enjoyed a number of firsts
- We rented a car and Mr. PiN greatly enjoyed driving in France, Luxembourg and Germany. We had never rented a car in continental Europe, and we definitely got to see some sights (and visit sites) that were less accessible by public transportation.
- I was impressed with the signage for the highway rest stops. A little car trailing a plug suggests they have chargers for electric cars, which seems very cool.
- We visited a number of smaller cities in Northeast France and in Germany which I had never seen before, including Reims, Metz, and Cologne.
Fabulousness
Did I mention we were on vacation in Europe?
As a plus, we met my sister in law there. She is a historian with training in the classics, which made visiting Roman ruins particularly interesting.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
I have absolutely no idea. However, between going through airports, and wandering cities, taking a few solo strolls to clear my mind, and sightseeing, I am pretty sure I got at least 150 minutes of walking this week.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
