I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 8 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
For the first time in many months, Mr. PiN and I were able to spend evenings together. Previously, he had been going back to his parents’ house to get it ready for sale. This was both fabulous, and a little strange.
Fabulousness
We hosted people from Mr. PiN’s parents’ neighborhood for dinner, and then we all went to the Symphony for the season premiere.
I also enjoyed cheering for the annual neighborhood road race, and visiting a friend for her before-the-race breakfast get together.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: I went up and down the stairs about a million times to clear Stuff out of the living room, and had the sore muscles Sunday to prove it. But no formal exercise. My trainer was off getting married this week.
- Sunday: Mr. PiN and I walked to a friend’s house for a morning get together, and then walked back to cheer runners on for the race through the neighborhood. 30 minutes of walking and an equal amount of time clapping (not counted as exercise).
- Monday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 18 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 18 minutes.
- Wednesday: A morning walk just for fun (my first in ages), 20 minutes. Later, I attended my first tennis lesson in weeks. 60 minutes.
- Thursday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 18 minutes.
- Friday: Mr. PiN and I had a long meeting with the estate lawyer, reviewing his father’s estate’s bills, including a lot of money spent getting the house fixed up. This was exhausting, and I did not exercise.
Total: 104 minutes of walking, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 164 minutes of exercise. I made my goal!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
