Fitness Log #318

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

However, this was a particularly bad week. I suppose I could say it was a first to be on such a bad hospital floor, except that (unfortunately) that was not true. Sigh.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do during this hospital week?

A huge conflagration burns on the bank of a river, seen from a distance.
A colorful and tactful representation of my hospital week.
  • Saturday:  I was able to leave work before it was dark, but it was too cold for a walk. Then I got distracted by remaining work and did not exericse.
  • Sunday:  Finally! I was able to leave work early and took a walk, for the first time in 2 weeks. 20 minutes.
  • Monday-Friday: I was just grinding it out. No exercise, except maybe a few walks within the hospital complex that I forgot to document.

Total: A 20 minute walk is all I will count–definitely far short of my exercise goal for the week. Hopefully next week will be better!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
