I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I didn’t note anything this week.
Fabulousness
I had taken a few days off for a trip I ended up canceling. I did not add back office hours and I very much enjoyed the extra days at home.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 17 minutes.
- Sunday: My first day off in several weeks. I did not leave the house, and did not do anything more physical than managing laundry. (I did iron.)
- Monday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 17 minutes. I considered doing more, but was super-tired.
- Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 17 minutes.
- Wednesday: Tennis lesson canceled by my teacher. I took a 32 minute walk home from the local bakery instead. I thought I might do something additional, but the weather turned ugly and my work in-box kept me hopping.
- Thursday: A 20 minute walk in the neighborhood.
- Friday: A friend and I took a field trip to look at carpeting, as we both need to replace old (in her case, very old) wall-to-wall. Afterwards, for recuperation, we walked from her house to the bakery and back. She lives very close, so I did not count it.
Total: 103 minutes of walking. If you count this as a hospital week (1 day was spent working in the hospital), then I met my goal. Otherwise, I most certainly did not.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
