I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I gave a eulogy at the funeral for my best friend.
Fabulousness
Not that fabulous, but I was able to clear out a pile of old journals from the living room this weekend.
Also not that fabulous, but still something I wanted to get done, I attended services by Zoom this week.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A 30 minute work out with my trainer.
- Sunday: I was exhausted today, no exercise.
- Monday: The weather was terrible for a walk home today. I kept myself busy with work long enough that I didn’t try to do any other exercise.
- Tuesday: I was finally able to walk to my pick up point today, 17 minutes.
- Wednesday: A tennis lesson, my last for several weeks. 60 minutes.
- Thursday: A walk to my pick up point, 17 minutes..
- Friday: My teacher surprised me yesterday with the offer of another lesson (she had a cancellation), so I was able to play again for a second time this week. 60 minutes. I also spent 2 hours in the hot afternoon pulling weeds. I am never sure if I should count this as exercise, but the soreness afterwards persuaded me this could be legit.
Total: 34 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, and 120 minutes of tennis, for a total of 184 minutes of exercise. Not counting the work in the garden.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
