Wednesday W #4

I’ve started Wednesday W’s as a way to give short updates of how I use my (new) extra day off per week. I am curious about what I will do with that extra day, and think blogging about it might prompt me to make sure I take advantage of it.

This week doesn’t really reflect my new 3-day weekend, as I was on vacation last week, and officially took Monday off as well. Which works out for me, as my original flight home was canceled and I had to take an overnight flight, landing at my home airport smack in the middle of what used to be my morning clinic.

When did I wake up: I never really went to sleep the night before, so I slept all morning, waking up around 2:30 pm. Thank goodness I wasn’t supposed to be at work!

Who am I spending time with: My pillow. And Mr. PiN.

What did I do for work: After a week away, I had plenty of messages and emails to review. Happily, my partner(s) were great about covering me; still, there’s plenty to be done. I gave up after about an hour and a half; I’m still tired and sleep-deprived. I sense a busy admin day later this week.

What project am I working on, now I have time: Today was all about unpacking the suitcase, washing my clothes, sorting mail, and making sure I pay my credit card bill (which is higher than usual this month).

What did I do to “fill my bucket:” Mostly that was the vacation that just ended. But I did have fun going through photos and posting some on Facebook.

What else was good about today: Again, I am so happy that I don’t have to go into work after spending all night on a plane. And, it looks like Mr. PiN and I are entitled to some compensation from Air Canada after their shenanigans. We won’t come out ahead on our vacation, but our vacation fund won’t be quite as depleted.

What’s made me laugh:

Two paintings of couples with text: Dating texts: Baby, I don't feel good. Married texts: I've had diarrhea seven times today.
Maybe Mr. PiN and I had a little too much togetherness this vacation?

    1. Yes, Air Canada got us coming and going. Applying for compensation is on my to-do list for the week, but needs to happen after I address some more work issues.
