I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I tried a new exercise video (Essentrics, which I had recorded from PBS).
Fabulousness
I enjoyed a short week of work, as I had blocked a day to attend a local conference. The conference wasn’t that fabulous, but it was great to end the week without notes to complete.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: A work out with my trainer, 30 minutes.
- Sunday: The day got away from me, I did not exercise today.
- Monday: It’s very cold out. I tried a new-to-me exercise video (Essentrics), 25 minutes.
- Tuesday: It was super cold, I did not walk today. By the time traffic had cleared enough for Mr. PiN to pick me up, I wasn’t interested in an exercise video at home either.
- Wednesday: A tennis lesson today, unfortunately solo (I miss my fellow student). 60 minutes.
- Thursday: It was cold, but much warmer than yesterday, and much, much warmer than it is supposed to be starting tomorrow. I walked to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
- Friday: My schedule was way off today. I thought I would have plenty of time to exercise in the afternoon, but spending the morning in meetings in freezing rooms sapped my energy and time. No exercise today.
Total: 17 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, 25 minutes of a stretching video, and 60 minutes of tennis. The total was 132 minutes, so I missed my goal. I am happy that I was quicker to find an exercise video when I couldn’t go outside, though.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
