I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I made a condolence call for the first time after my father’s death.
Fabulousness
I was working in the hospital, nothing fabulous really happened this week.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do in this hospital week?

- Saturday: A walk from work to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Sunday: I had to walk a bit to get into work, and then walked home to my pick up point. I didn’t time my walk in, so I will just count the 18 minutes on my way home.
- Monday: A walk from home to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Tuesday: The skies opened up this afternoon and I thought I would miss my walk, but the rain cleared up before I was ready to go home. 18 minutes to my pick up point.
- Wednesday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Thursday: An admission at the very last possible moment meant I wasn’t ready to come home until nearly dark. I did not walk but instead got picked up at the hospital.
- Friday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
Total: 108 minutes of walking, nothing else. Walking part way home nearly every day gets me to my goal!
Monthly Round Up
- Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): Met 4/4 weeks.
- Clutter goals: No real progress here, just trying to clear up the mess I made before going away.
- Local Adventures. None here, but I had plenty of adventures in California.
- Social activity (one in-person activity per month and/or attending services). Walked with my friend one afternoon, and then had her over another to have tea, chat, and watch a video from ACP.
I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
