Fitness Log #404, Friday Firsts, Fabulousness, And Monthly Goals

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I saw a play (see below) for the first time.

Fabulousness

My nephew is visiting my mom for a week, and my trip overlaps with his visit. I got to see him for longer. We all went to a play with my aunt and cousin–we had a great time visiting and seeing live theater. It was truly fabulous.

Later this week, I invited my friend over for a chat, partly to make sure that I actually tidied something up. We enjoyed the newly swept porch for an hour or so.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

A large family with multiple generations in a Victorian sitting room.
The family get-togethers this weekend weren’t quite this large.
  • Saturday:  I took a walk before my nephew arrived at grandma’s house, 33 minutes.
  • Sunday:  This morning I walked with my nephew (who is taller, and walks much more quickly, than I can). We walked the same route as yesterday, with a short detour: 35 minutes.
  • Monday: After an early morning flight, with lots of uncounted airport walking, I ran some errands in the local business district and walked home. It was a 30 minute walk back to the house.
  • Tuesday: I was a little late leaving the hospital, and Mr. PiN picked me up a block before my usual pick up point, 16 minutes.
  • Wednesday: A tennis lesson outside, the weather was lovely. 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: A walk to my pick up point, but then a bus ride home (we had some missed calls). 18 minutes.
  • Friday: I decided to take a rest day.

Total: 132 minutes of walking and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 192 minutes. I made my goal!

Monthly Round Up

  • Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): Achieved in 4/4 weeks, go me!
  • Clutter goals: Nothing changed this month.
  • Local Adventures. Nothing done locally.
  • Social activity (one in-person activity per month and/or attending services). I had a very busy weekend at home (my childhood home) seeing family. Lots of socialization. And then I had my friend over to my home (my adult home) as well.

I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
