Fitness Log #153 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 2 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. The tennis courts closest to home were full on a beautiful Saturday morning, so Mr. PiN and I went to a public court in a different part of town–my first time there. After a lovely hour in the sun, we cruised the area before going home for lunch.
  2. Later in the week, some bad weather was expected (it didn’t come), so we tried out the public indoor courts. It was very strange to play indoors, but fun.
Those foxes have some goals in mind.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  Played tennis (in the new to me court) for 38 minutes.
  • Sunday:  Walked home from the bakery, by way of a friend’s house. 38 minutes.
  • Monday: After a hectic day of work, met my trainer via video for a 30 minute work out.
  • Tuesday: Got a ride to the neighborhood Starbucks after work, and walked home, doing a little window shopping on the way. 26 minutes of exercise after I passed all the shops.
  • Wednesday: Indoor tennis today, I was playing much better. 56 minutes.
  • Thursday: After dinner walk with Mr. PiN, 20 minutes.
  • Friday: After work (but before I finished my notes) walk, 26 minutes.

Total: 110 minutes walking, 94 minutes of tennis, 30 minutes of strength training, no yoga, for a total of 234 minutes. I was able to meet my goal for time (truly, my primary goal), but not the strength training. I am still thinking over my future plans.
