Fitness Log #162 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. My doctor asked me to come every 6 months instead of yearly. I know what this means–I’m old. Or I have MMP (multiple medical problems). Either way: Ugh.
It could be worse, I could be a turkey at the end of November.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  I was tired today, my first day to wake up in my own home for the past week. I did not do any formal exercise today.
  • Sunday:  Today was all about getting ready to go back to work, including several hours at the computer. No exercise today.
  • Monday: After work, I met (remotely) with my trainer for the first time in… (checks)… 4 weeks. 30 minutes of exercise.
  • Tuesday: A full work day, I did not take time to exercise. Also, I was sore from yesterday.
  • Wednesday: I was tired and cranky all day. A late afternoon walk didn’t help my mood much, but at least I got some fresh air. 41 minutes.
  • Thursday: Felt not-so-great after work, no exercise.
  • Friday: Super cranky, and the weather wasn’t great. No exercise after work today, either.

Total: 41 minutes walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a pathetic total of 71 minutes. I didn’t feel good all week, and I hardly exercised. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Next week must be better, or else I will be so cranky no one will be able to stand me.
