Fitness Log #164 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I made my first grants from my donor advised fund. It was super-easy once I had the EINs. Clicking 2 or 3 times is much easier than writing and signing a check, noting it in the checking register, and then dealing with sending it through the mail.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  I definitely wasn’t feeling peppy after yesterday’s booster shot. I did manage to drag myself around the neighborhood for a 20 minute walk. It was painful.
  • Sunday:  After yesterday, I spent today on the couch.
  • Monday: My arm was still a touch sore, my trainer was able to reschedule for later in the week. In the late afternoon, I took a quick walk around the neighborhood and felt so peppy, I walked a little longer than planned. 30 minutes walking.
  • Tuesday: This was a super difficult day, there was no exercise after work.
  • Wednesday: My rescheduled training session happened after work, 30 minutes.
  • Thursday: It was a long day and I was pretty sore after last evening’s work out. No exercise for me.
  • Friday: My sister in law came to stay for a few days. No exercise today.

Total: 50 minutes walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and recovery from my COVID booster. I definitely did not meet my exercise goals, but I took a huge step forward for my future health.
