Fitness Log #168 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I checked out an e-book from the library and was able to download it (for a few weeks) onto my Kindle app. It was so easy!

Downloading books is a huge improvement in my life, but I don’t the picture would be quite as appealing with an e-reader in her lap.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  After my sad showing yesterday, I took another walk. I got a bit farther before feeling out of shape, so I suppose that is a win? 31 minutes.
  • Sunday:  I went out for a walk again, feeling even better while doing it (the weather may have helped). I thought a lot about my usual routine and how nice my life is when I follow it, leading me to write about my wonderful life. A 33 minute walk.
  • Monday: Walked to a different shopping area, with arrangements to get a ride home. 34 minutes. My trainer needed the day off, and I thought I might work out on my own; I did not.
  • Tuesday: I was at work for the full day, though the patients forgot, I think, that the office was open. A nice way to return to the office. I still got home after dark and decided against going for a walk.
  • Wednesday: Walked part-way home from work, and then took a short walk around the neighborhood with Mr. PiN. 41 minutes altogether.
  • Thursday: Got dropped off a little past our local shopping area. Exchanged items at a Little Free Library, bought some holiday gifts (late), and walked home. It was nice to walk slightly different streets. I totally goofed up with my timer, but I think I was walking 33 minutes.
  • Friday: I have been contemplating reducing my exercise goal, but today–with only 38 minutes left to meet my current goal–I took a walk back from the bakery, and extended with an extra loop. 40 minutes.

Total: 212 minutes walking. Time goal achieved!
