Fitness Log #196

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this week I forgot to note any firsts.

Where are my Friday Firsts

I must watch for firsts and guard them tenderly, like lambs.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  I am less worn down than last week, but still didn’t get any exercise today.
  • Sunday:  This morning the weather was perfect for walking. I enjoyed my first long walk in a while, 51 minutes.
  • Monday: A walk part way home from work–20 minutes–and then (after some work-from-home) my remote session with my trainer. 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A walk part-way home took 24 minutes.
  • Wednesday: After a ride most of the way to the local shopping area, I bought a birthday card and walked home. 30 minutes. Evening tennis at the nearby courts: 17 minutes playing, and a bit longer enjoying the late summer day in the park.
  • Thursday: I walked part way home, 20 minutes.
  • Friday: A 20 minute walk after work.

Total: 165 minutes walking, 17 minutes of tennis, and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 212 minutes.
