Fitness Log #200 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I received a recruiting e-mail for a position in the next town over from my parents. I actually considered this pretty seriously and spoke with Mr. PiN about e-mailing back.
  2. This week I bought tickets for our first trip abroad since COVID hit.
  3. We have to consider travel insurance for the first time (for coverage in case we get stuck in quarantine while abroad). It’s a new world.

Or maybe travel is going back to its roots?

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  I was tired and felt lazy. No exercise for me.
  • Sunday:  After eschewing exercise for 3 days (and not actually leaving the house for 2), I finally took a walk before breakfast. It was not as bad as I feared. 33 minutes. Mr. PiN and I went out for a late afternoon hit at the tennis courts; it was hot enough that I really only hit for about 10 minutes (periodically retreating to a shady bench).
  • Monday: Worked with my trainer after work, 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: No exercise today.
  • Wednesday: Tennis lesson today, 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: No exercise today.
  • Friday: Walked after work, 42 minutes. My foot was sore partway through the walk, and I iced it on the sofa after coming home.

Total: 75 minutes walking, 60 minutes of tennis, and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 165 minutes. Another win for scheduling exercise time with someone else.
