Fitness Log #205 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I conceded that our car will no longer be trusted to make long drives. I made rental arrangements for 2 upcoming road trips.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

A woman holding a feed bowl above her head faces a turkey, who is staring at the food.
I need to start preparing for Thanksgiving (travel).
  • Saturday:  An afternoon walk, 29 minutes.
  • Sunday:  I expected bad weather, and planned to stay in all day. The weather wasn’t that bad, but I still skipped the exercise. It was a nice relaxing day.
  • Monday: Workout with my trainer in the evening. 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: Walked partway home from work, 17 minutes.
  • Wednesday: A tennis lesson on a lovely day. My teacher is making me run more. 60 minutes,
  • Thursday: Work was long today. Also, I know I am pretty close to my weekly goal. No exercise.
  • Friday: A walk after work, a great way to end the week. 33 minutes.

Total: 79 minutes walking, 60 minutes of tennis, and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 169 minutes. This felt like a good week.
