Fitness Log #212

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I try also to keep track of firsts in the week (more notable at the start of the pandemic). This week I either didn’t have any firsts to note, or I just didn’t pay attention to them.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

I felt somewhat more energetic than this, but not much more.
  • Saturday:  No exercise today.
  • Sunday:  I took a slow walk in the neighborhood, and stopped a few times to admire the fall foliage. My timer says 21 minutes, but I will count only 20 (given my several stops).
  • Monday: Busy day, and not feeling super. No exercise today.
  • Tuesday: I walked part-way home from work, 20 minutes. I was pretty tired, and I noticed it took me a bit longer than usual (I can usually get to the same spot in 15-18 minutes). I am clearly not fully recovered.
  • Wednesday: It was a long day at work today. No exercise.
  • Thursday: I walked to the same pick up point as Tuesday, but it took only 18 minutes. And I didn’t feel exhausted. I hope this means I am getting better.
  • Friday: Walked partway home, 18 minutes.

Total: 76 minutes walking. Not at my goal, but considering that I am recovering from COVID and working in the hospital, I am kind of OK with this.
