Fitness Log #213 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. Mr. PiN and I arranged a totally different pick up spot, as our usual spot was blocked off by a public event (with lots of security).
  2. At the end of the week I was able to walk between hospital wings without feeling bad, for the first time since getting COVID (3 and 1/2 weeks ago).

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

Soon I will be running like a lion. But for now, I’m imitating him resting.

How did I do?

  • Saturday: A 28 minute walk.
  • Sunday:  I spent a lot of time at home today after work, no walking (or other exercise).
  • Monday: Walked part way home, 20 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A very long day, that didn’t start well. No exercise.
  • Wednesday: I had hopes for today, but work multiplied like kudzu. No exercise.
  • Thursday: A super long day, no exercise.
  • Friday: No real exercise, though walking back and forth between hospital wings usually does take about 10 minutes for the round trip.

Total: 58 minutes walking (68 if I count the work trek on Friday), 1 week recuperating further from COVID. My exercise time isn’t nearly at goal (90 minutes), but the getting better part is something I’m happy with.
