Fitness Log #231 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I bought certificates of deposit, for the first time in over a decade. Possibly two decades.
  2. I went home to celebrate a holiday with my family. Without my Dad. Not the greatest first.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

A medieval aquamanile in the shape of a lion standing.
I know March is supposed to come in like a lion and leave like a lamb, but the lion was lingering for my trip home. Brr.
  • Saturday:  I was exhausted, I am not sure what from. There was no exercising–but, in fact, lots of napping–today.
  • Sunday:  A much better day, the weather was better too. I took a neighborhood walk, 34 minutes.
  • Monday: I ran some errands on the way home, 32 minutes walking to a pick up point. Later, I worked out with my trainer. 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A walk part-way home, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: Travel day. I probably did get some walking in, but nothing that I measured.
  • Thursday: A little time on the tennis court in my hometown–smaller, but more pleasant. 40 minutes.
  • Friday: Mr. PiN and I took my brother’s kids to the park. It was cold. I didn’t count any of that time as exercise. I thought I had met my goal yesterday, anyway.

Total: 86 minutes walking, 30 minutes strength training, 40 minutes of tennis, for a total of 156 minutes of exercise. I met my goal! but did skip out on my PT exercises. They have definitely not become a routine, yet.
