Fitness Log #241 And Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I took a flying trip (pun intended) overnight for family business. I no longer envy people who travel for work, going back and forth in 1 day. Ugh.

Friday Fabulousness

  1. One of the authors I support on Patreon is releasing her latest book one chapter at a time. I was too busy to read the daily chapter at the start, but caught up after the first week. I am loving the chance to read a new chapter every day.
A woman reading with a book on her lap
Reading a brand new book by a favorite author. Bliss!

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  The air finally cleared, and I took a morning walk, 31 minutes. I was supposed to take another walk to meet a friend to study MKSAP, but she forgot. I took another walk in the evening after a frustrating day, 28 minutes.
  • Sunday:  After a long day indoors, which was kind of stressful, I finally got out to take a walk. 20 minutes.
  • Monday: A walk to my pick up point (20 minutes) and, later, a work out with my trainer (30 minutes).
  • Tuesday: A walk to my further pick up point, 23 minutes.
  • Wednesday: I was traveling through several airports. I am sure I did some reasonable walking, but have no idea how to quantify it (my Fitbit having been decommissioned a few years ago).
  • Thursday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 20 minutes.
  • Friday: A walk after work, 28 minutes.

Total: 170 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and airport schlepping replacing a tennis lesson. I hit my exercise goal, though.
