Fitness Log #267 And Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

I heard about Goldbelly for the first time from my sister-in-law. Apparently, this is a company that specializes in shipping food from famous local restaurants or bakeries around the country.

Fabulousness

We enjoyed having Mr. PiN’s sister visit, and then we enjoyed having our house back to ourselves.

Once she was gone, Mr. PiN arranged for a junk service to haul away some heavy bulky items from his parents’ (father’s) house. I was so excited to see him get rid of items; and also excited that he had some younger guys do the heavy lifting.

Then my sister sent me holiday treats through Goldbelly. I didn’t say a thing to her–it must be in the air.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do during this week spent working in the hospital?

Painting of a feast, Classical in style, held in the shadow of old trees. Two parrots sit on branches in the upper left.
Happy holidays?
  • Saturday:  I walked part way home from work. It felt great. 20 minutes walking.
  • Sunday:  I walked part way home again, 20 minutes.
  • Monday: No exercise today.
  • Tuesday: Another walk part way home. The usual pick up spot was inaccessible due to a public holiday with street closures, so I walked a little further. I will call this a 23 minute walk.
  • Wednesday: Another walk to a further pick up point (lots of holiday events in the neighborhood). 23 minutes.
  • Thursday: No walking today.
  • Friday: I had planned to walk part way home tonight, but Mr. PiN was close by when I was ready to go and picked me up. I knew that I was very close to my goal, so we walked around our block before going in the house. We saw Mars during our walk. 5 minutes.

Total: 91 minutes walking. I just met my goal, which is a nice feeling after missing it for many weeks.
