A Meaning-Full Christmas

Last year I was away from home, sitting by my dad’s hospital bed in a strange city. It’s been a long year, but I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas in a way that has become traditional in my household.

By the time you read this, I will be at work, wearing my once-a-year accessories: my blingy reindeer earrings and a wreath pin.

The nurses will hopefully be doing their Christmas thing (think: headbands with stuffed antlers, lightbulb necklaces), secure in the knowledge that there are donuts and other treats in their break room.

A drawing of a sprig of holly with red berries.

After morning rounds, there will be a group lunch for the residents with music and home made desserts.

Then I get to come home, and spend the day with Mr. PiN, possibly listening to sappy holiday music, knowing that I let one of my partners off the hook for holiday rounding.

I hope you have a great and fulfilling day as well.

What is your favorite Christmas Day tradition?

  1. Merry Christmas! We opened presents, I went for a run, and we got takeout. Low key is good! Hope the New Year treats you well.
