I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
This week was a hospital week with brand new interns; they had been practicing for all of 3 days when I joined them. I did not have time to pay attention to firsts, and I have to admit, there wasn’t a whole lot of fabulousness going on. Though my hospital team was pretty darned good.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do in this hospital week?

- Saturday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Sunday: No exercise today, I needed to get home in time to meet my friends by video.
- Monday: A walk to my pick up point, 18 minutes.
- Tuesday: We have a heat wave, Mr. PiN picked me up at work. I had too much work to exercise indoors in the evening.
- Wednesday: It’s even hotter today, no walking.
- Thursday & Friday: The week continued too hot to walk.
Total: 36 minutes of walking, not nearly at my goal.
Monthly Round Up
- Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): 3/4 met, the high temperatures were just too much this week.
- Clutter goals: I have done very little here. However Mr. PiN was willing to let go of about a dozen tennis rackets, and I brought them in to my teacher. The city maintains a supply of equipment for kids with interest in the sport, but reduced means.
- Local Adventures. A trip to the museum to see a new exhibit. On opening day, which was fun!
- Social activity (one in-person activity per month and/or attending services). Seeing two groups of friends in-person, and visiting my retired friend on her porch. I think I did pretty well.
I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
