I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Fabulousness
We lost power Thursday evening–which was not fabulous. What was fabulous was having the lights come on just as darkness fell on Friday. Mr. PiN and I were so happy to enjoy lights, and air conditioning.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: A work out with my trainer, 30 minutes. Later in the day, I visited a friend and then walked home from her house, 35 minutes.
- Sunday: Today was a rest day.
- Monday: I had to go in for some work, and walked to my pick up point; only Mr. PiN caught me a little closer to the hospital. 16 minutes.
- Tuesday: The weather got very warm again, and Mr. PiN insisted on picking me up from the hospital. No walk this evening.
- Wednesday: With no teacher in town, my fellow student and I were less devoted to playing tennis during a heat wave. I went into work to enjoy the central air conditioning, and walked part way home, 16 minutes.
- Thursday: It was pretty hot, but I walked part way home, 16 minutes.
- Friday: I took some walks in the air conditioned halls at work, before and after seeing patients. Altogether, 27 minutes.
Total: 110 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 140 minutes of exercise. I did not meet my goal, but I was pretty close!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
