My Favorite Posts By Other People, November 2025

I read many blog posts each day. They mostly focus on personal finance, but also on minimalism and travel . Here are some of my favorite posts I read in November

Last month I picked out several posts about retirement, but I suppose it is still on my mind.

Over at The White Coat Investor, Erik Hofmeister wrote about the count down to retirement. He lets us know One More Year Can Be Tough.

Over at Monevator, the Accumulator writes about Derisking your portfolio on the run into retirement. A topic that is very much of concern to me these days.

Joe at Retire By 40 is dealing with aging parents in law, and an aging parent. At the same time, he has a high schooler at home. I do not envy him his RB40 Sandwich; this is a tough situation to be in.

Over at Humble Dollar, Richard Quinn posted a reminder that doing well financially doesn’t guarantee that your life will be trouble-free, Mark Crothers reminded us that even if you do well financially, that’s not a guarantee your childhood friends will do as well, and Jerry Pinkard reminds of all the things we should put in a letter of instruction (so those we leave behind can take care of our affairs).

For me, November means turkey, though I realize I never did have any to eat this month.

Sometimes you just need to some encouragement, or a thank you.

At No Sidebar, a very nice piece for anyone going through a challenging time: The Person You Are Becoming.

Dr. Cory Fawcett wants to know Could Someone Use a Thank You? His post at Financial Success MD is a real feel good story and a reminder that our work makes a real difference in peoples’ lives (maybe his more dramatically than mine.)
