Fitness Log #376, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

Saturday night Mr. PiN and his sister and I met friends for dinner. It was a restaurant I had never been to, in an area of town I never go to. A first.

We parked a few doors down from the restaurant, in front of an ice cream parlor. I was stuffed from dinner, but was talked into trying a smidge (a taster spoon’s worth) of a new to me flavor. I’ll be back another day to have it again when I have more room in my stomach.

Fabulousness

I went out to dinner with friends on a week night! No cooking, no cleaning, and a great excuse to stop doing my notes so I could meet them.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

Winter has definitely made its appearance for the year.
  • Saturday:  Strength training with my trainer. 30 minutes.
  • Sunday:  The day got away from me, plus the weather was not great for walking. No exercise.
  • Monday: I got a ride up to the shopping area, and walked home. 28 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A walk part way home, 17 minutes.
  • Wednesday: A very fun tennis lessons, 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: I took the bus into work and back home. It was cold and I took all the short cuts I could. On the way home, I walked about 9 minutes, which is what I will count for exercise today.
  • Friday: It’s freezing out and I haven’t quite hit my goal for the week. I tried an evening cool down yoga video. Not too hard, but 10 minutes of exercise is better than nothing.

Total: 54 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, 10 minutes of wimpy yoga, and 60 minutes of tennis. 154 minutes of exercise, I made my goal!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.

    1. You are braver than I am!
I hear next week is going to warm up. I might go out if the temps are in the 20s, but that’s still colder what I usually go out in.
