My Favorite Posts By Other People, June 2025

I read many blog posts each day. They mostly focus on personal finance, but also on minimalism and travel . Here are some of my favorite posts I read last month.

Retirement seems to have been the theme of the month, perhaps I was influenced by the large number of retirements in my division this summer.

In early June, I found a rash of posts about withdrawal strategies and spending in retirement:

Of course, there is more to retirement than money. I am working on the money but also trying to prepare for a new life schedule, aka, what I will I do with all this freed up time? I enjoyed the first in a series at ESI Money reviewing The Top Seven Retirement Activities. Hint: the first one is about exercise.

Cory Fawcett, at FinancialSuccessMD, writes about the (mostly non financial) Ways We Sabotage Our Retirements.

Over at HumbleDollar, Greg Tomamichel is not so sure about retirement, as he wrote In Defense of Work.

Leaving retirement aside, I found Karen Trefzger’s post at No Sidebar about Dressing with Less very interesting. I am not a clothes horse, but I identify with the feeling of not having anything to wear, despite having a full closet and dresser.

This woman appears to have a minimal wardrobe; she doesn’t even have shoes!

For those who aren’t sure why people who think about finances also often develop an interest in minimalism, Joshua Becker at Becoming Minimalist demonstrates the connection with 20 Stats That Show Exactly How Much Time and Money We Can Save Through Minimalism. In a prior post, he offered a list of 10 Minimalist Challenges to Help Simplify Your Life.

I hope some of these posts intrigued you enough to go read them. Did you have any favorite posts from June to share?
