I read many blog posts each day. They mostly focus on personal finance, but also on minimalism and travel . Here are some of my favorite posts I read in May
May was a difficult month for me, with lots of hospital time, even more than I planned on. I found that fewer posts appealed to me, which is likely more a function of how I was feeling than how people were writing.
These are the posts I saved to recommend later:
- Over at the White Coat Investor, Brian Jepson writes about retiring from medicine in Hanging Up the White Coat.
- At Blogging Away Debt, Ashley writes about some of the real benefits of getting ahead financially, in The Quiet Relief of Being Able to Afford Healthcare.
- Jesse at The Best Interest compares the stock market with predictably unpredictable Spring weather in You’ve Lived Here Your Whole Life.
- The Woke Salaryman published Why rural houses die alone. It is set in a different country, but the principle definitely applies to communities in the USA as well.
Half of the posts I saved had to do with travel. Particularly, other peoples’ trip reports.
For your armchair travel pleasure:

- Darcy of We Want Guac takes a road trip up the West Coast of the USA. Photos includeed.
- Happily Disengaged talks mostly about the life of Coast Fire, but also writes about several trips, including to El Salvador. Also with photos.
- At Burning Desire for Fire, Frogdancer Jones traveled to several Balkan countries. All of her posts are full of beautiful photos and interesting facts, but I particularly enjoyed her posts from Mostar and Ljubljana.
- Bob at Tawcan took his family to Iceland in November , and his pictures are amazing! The trip sounded very nice too.
I hope you find some of these posts interesting. Do you have any favorite posts from May?
